Crunch Time
So, after sitting through today's english class I realized I a lot more to do than I thought. Aside from finishing up my portfolio, I need to keep caught up on these blogs, and study for my other finals. It's too bad that all my finals are over by Tuesday except for my English one, which is on Friday, but hey I'm not going to complain ha ha. These next couple weeks are going to take over. If you are looking for me, you can most likely find me in Bracken. Too much stuff to do, too little time!!!

Best Yet
This past weekend my group (now named Tommy Law) had another show back in Indianapolis. This show stood out from the rest of the shows we have done. There was a boatload of people who turned out, and we were the headliners. We got to choose the groups to open before us, which was cool because we knew of three other groups from Indy that are doing the same kind of music. All together it was a crazy time and everyone had a blast. An Indianapolis music promoter talked to us after the show, and gave us a list of show opportunities he wanted us to pick and choose from. The show was a blast, and we even got a good connection on our side. The last song got out of control, and most of the crowd hopped on stage. Hey, we didn't mind. It was a great time and we appreciate all of our fans and supporters.

Thanksgiving Argument
My parents own a linen delivery business, and sometimes restaurant need a special delivery when they run out of something (napkins, aprons, etc.). On Wednesday night, I made a trip out to the Westfield Charlestons to help out my dad because they needed napkins around 9 PM. I didn't mind doing this because he had been drinking and I hadn't, it's a family business so I have to help. Come Friday night I have plans with a girl. While I am sitting at my house with my family waiting for her to let me know she is ready to pick her up, my dad gets a call that Charleston's is yet AGAIN out of napkins and needs a special delivery. He tells me it is my job and I have to do it. I argue that I have had plans with this girl all week, and never get to see her since I am always at BSU. He tells me it is a family business so that should come first, so I claim that my sister should do it, seeing how she isn't doing anything but sitting on her ass watching TV. My sister argues, but in turn my dad realizes I make a valid point, and she ends up doing it. The ethos is that I was very angry when my dad put the responsibility on me when i had plans, and my sister didn't. The pathos is that I already made a delivery that week and my sister didn't. The logos is that I had done my fair share of help. I had plans and my sister wasn't doing anything, so it made more sense for her to take care of the job.

Home Sweet Home
So today is the day that I had to return myself and my mind state to reality! I had a great break, but I was definitely ready to get back to Muncie and knock out these last few weeks of the semester. Interesting because I originally came back here this afternoon around 1 oclock witha ride from my mom. Around 4 I realized that I forgot my meal card. Not wanting to waste ten dollars I was lucky enough for my buddy Kyle to scoop it up from my house in Indy since he hadn't left for Muncie yet. So now I am back at home (BSU), eating ramen and watching the Chargers eat Peyton alive. Everybody Believe in Blue we got this!!!

Thanksgiving
This Thanksgiving break has been wonderful thus far. No stress, food, family, friends, and of course analyzing the arguments. For Turkey Day my whole family piled into my sister's house in Noblesville. She's married and her husbands whole family was there too, so you can only imagine what happens when two crazy families get together. I spent most of the day stuck to the sofa watching the football games, smelling the food, and wondering when it was time to eat. By 4 oclock I was greeted with cajun turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy (the best ever), noodles, sweet potatoes, the list could go on and on. After filling up I spent the rest of the night with my brother in laws , sisters, and cousins. Stayed up until the next morning. Overall it was a great Thanksgiving. Hope everyone is having a good break!!

Looking Forward to Break
So although we didn't even have english class this week, it has still been a rather long and exhausting week. I am making sure to give these last few weeks of the semester my all so my grades will reflect hard work! I only have a couple of classes tomorrow then I plan on doing more revision to my papers and website. I am going to take it easy all weekend and make sure all my work is caught up before I go back home to Indy for the week. My professors don't like the idea of a Fruesday, so luckily for me they canceled the classes for the day! So I'm getting out of here a day early. Everybody have their self a good Friday!

Back In the Day Music
Lately I have been listening to a lot of music that I have not listened to in a long time. I grabbed my I pod from 6th grade, dusted it off, and charged it so see what kind of music I was listening to back then. To my surprise there was A LOT of good music that I totally forgot about! Chevelle, Creed, Say Anything, Hanson (ha ha), and a lot more. The one band that stuck out most to me was Alien Ant Farm. Their album "ANThology" has been on repeat since I re-discovered it ha ha. Please tell me one person in the class used to/still does listen to Alien Ant Farm?! Good music!!

Conference
Today was the day that I chose to have my conference with Mr. McArdle. It went well and I walked out understanding what I need to do to maintain an acceptable grade. He explained a better way to come at my audience in my peer revision paper. I am confident that once I revise it, it will be exactly what he is looking for. He also let me know that I was behind on blogging, and that I can catch up by doing more this week which was great to find out! So I will definitely be updating this bad boy more than twice this week ha ha. Everybody have a good Wednesday.

WEIRD DREAM
So lately I have been having some pretty vivid dreams, but the one I had last night was pretty bizarre. So I was across the street at a buddies house. We were doing the usual weekend ritual when something out of the ordinary occurred. My friends mom came downstairs , so we hid the beer, and she made us turn on the weather channel. The radar displayed a high chance of storms and tornadoes. My mother then called me and told me to get back to my house immediately. On the walk home I saw a funnel cloud form from the sky in front of me. Normally, I would poop my pants, but in this dream a voice came to me. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from, until I realized that the voice was coming from the friendly face that this tornado was showing. He asked if he could come hangout, so we went back to my friends house and played NBA 2K11 all night long. I don't how this tornado unlethally fit in the house, but it all made sense in the dream. I woke up after that. Crazy stuff.
Class
Last week in class was strictly revision business. On Tuesday we went and sat in the eating area (if that's what you want to call it) and did our group revisions. Mr. McArdle walked around for us to ask questions and for any other concerns. On Thursday we did the normal circling up of the class so we could do our Intensive Reviews. We went over the dont ask dont tell policy, piracy problems, and more. We have more to revise this upcoming class Tuesday.

Happy Halloween
Man I wish I was out getting a pillow case full of candy right now rather than doing homework. It was a fun Halloween weekend though. I stayed here for Friday and a couple buddies that go to IU came for the night. Then took off to IU for Saturday night. The walking distances to get places aren't that fun when its cold out though. Now I all I have to get done is these peer reviews for class on Tuesday. Happy Halloweener!

Net Neutrality (Public Writing)
A subject that is recently holding a large debate is net neutrality. Net neutrality is the policy that reserves anyone their right to a free and open internet experience ( search engines, social networking, blogging, etc. ). Our countries big telephone and cable companies are wanting to be the ones who control our internet. They want to tax users for certain purposes, decide which websites will load fast, decide which websites will load slow, all so they can guarantee a fast working experience for their programs while they push their competitors into the shadows. Instead of the internet being equal for everyone and having anything a user wants at their finger tips, they are changing the idea of the internet, and putting it at risk. This would put restrictions on certain information, competition, and overall innovation that the internet provides to us. The user's choice would be canceled out, and in turn left up to the ideas of big companies. This is something that could hold a huge impact on our society and our economic future.
All nighters
So all in all it was a good day today...I mean yesterday? An all nighter isn't usually my favorite thing to do during the school week, but you got to do what you got to do. Falling way behind on class work in every class is no one's fault but my own and I have to take responsibility for it! Nothing that some good music and coffee can't help me get through though. I am not a morning person at all, so this will probably be the first AND last time I post a blog at 6:45 AM (or any time before noon for that matter). Hope everyone has a great morning leading to an overall great day.

Public Writing
In my opinion, Public writing is used to get a point across, or to support an argument. When you do public writing, you do it with the intention to show others your opinion, so that they can form their own opinions of your opinions. Public writing is used to look at both sides of an argument as well. It is written and put out there for others to read, agree/disagree with, and to figure out possible solutions for a possible problem. The MM websites are examples of public writing.

yo
It's been a nice relaxing fall break in Indianapolis this weekend. I managed to stay out of trouble and hangout with some friends I haven't seen in quite a while. It was also the first weekend in a while that we didn't have a show! So it has been a nice break indeed. This is the longest I've been away from BSU since we moved in at the beginning of the semester, so I am pretty anxious to make the trip back HOME tonight! I am planning on tackling this last half of the semester with a lot more determination also, no more time for slacking! I hope everyone had a safe break and enjoyed it while it lasted!

Great Weekend
Ending this weekend is a HUGE bummer...but back to reality. We released our mixtape on Friday and it was a huge success! We were the number one mixtape on www.datpiff.com within the first 12 hours, and the downloads are still building! Friday night we had a Release show/party and it was one of the coolest things I've been apart of in a long time. Some people hearing the buzz had us come perform for their party on Saturday night too. If any of you were at either of those, right on for coming out!! I am really happy with the results of our music and glad it is finally getting across campus. If anybody is into hip-hop and wants a listen let me know, I'll get you the free download link! Hope everyone had a good and safe weekend. Prioritize for the week and THINK POSITIVE!

why?
*shaking my head*....So the Colts fall to 0-2 in the division tonight. Which hasn't happened in a long time. For any of you reading this who watched I know you were punching walls after that (what should have been) interception, he could have ran it back for a touchdown too. So over all that put a huge damper on my Sunday. But the weekend as a whole was a good one! I'm ready to face this week with a positive outlook and get done what I need to get done. We have a mix tape dropping this Friday night which I am really excited about and a show to promote it next weekend. Any of you that want a listen just ask me for the download link and I will send it your way.For now I am at the library and have a psych test tonight at 10 pm, so I think I'll get back to studying now. Everybody be happy to be alive and have a good start to the week!!!
Monday, September 27, 2010
I spent the past weekend back in Indianapolis visiting with younger friends and I was also apart of a concert at a house party on Saturday. It felt nice being back in Indy for the weekend and sleeping in my big king size bed. My parents were out of town so I had the whole house to myself all weekend. After being there for a couple days though I was definitely ready to head back to Muncie. The Colts got another strong win under their belts!! And so did my fantasy team. Safe to say it was a good weekend. Now I'm just looking forward to homecoming, our next show on October 16, then fall break!
Tuesday, September 21, 2010
So i just finished up my Rhetorical Analysis essay. I dont feel like I did very well to say the least. I am looking forward to class on Thursday so i can see my edited essay and hopefully get some ideas on some better ways to write it for my next draft. Today in class Mr. McArdle gave us a little surprise with a 10 point essay over what we were SUPPOSED to read over the weekend. Needless to say, I think a lot of us learned our lessons and will begin to read what we are supposed to. I know I'll be sure to start checking my cyllabus haha. It was an interesting piece though so I'm pretty upset I didn't read it before hand. Could have had an easy ten points!!! See you guys on Thursday.

A new Week
I've decided to dedicate this whole week to studying and living at the library. I came to college to make momma proud! Ha ha looks like I'm going to have to set my social life and music to the side for a while...at least until Thursday night. And nothing changed from my previous blog...the Colts stomped out the Giants like a flaming bag of dog sh*t on a door step. Yeah i said it. It's almost midnight though and they just reminded us to wrap things up in the computer lab. Shout-out to Edwards Hall for having possibly the worst WiFi connection out of the whole campus...ticks me off. Until Tuesday!
Bleed Blue
I really do need to get better at remembering to do my blogs! But as of right now I'm in the dorm with some buddies watching the little brother get outdone by the big brother. The Colts really let me down with their performance in week one against Houston, but it seems like the Texans always give us a run for our money when we compete. Tonight the Colts are actually playing like the Superbowl team they really are. No doubt in my mind they're going to go all the way this year, and WIN the whole thing. Rather upsetting that my family has season tickets and i should be sitting in section 209 seat 17 as i type this, but no one was willing to bring me back to Muncie before 8 a.m tomorrow :( Better believe I'm going to be at every other game I can make it to though!!

BIG ONE NINE
YO!!! So...I woke up this morning and I am now a year older. Being nineteen doesn't really change much of anything though, but hey doesn't mean I can't go celebrate! I WILL be in Mr. McArdle's class tomorrow, I already made the mistake of missing the last one. I am a little nervous to walk in and figure out how far behind I am. AND I left my peer revision group hanging...Sorry guys. Won't happen again. I will be prepared tomorrow with the stuff that I SHOULD have brought in last class. Anyways, My parents are coming up to Muncie tonight to take me out for birthday dinner and what not, I'm excited to eat some food that's not from Ball State's Campus. After that I'm going to meet up with some of my buddies and practice for the show on Friday. If any of you want to come It's at the ES Jungle in Broadripple (Indianapolis) and doors open at 7PM!! I'm pretty stoked for it, It has been a couple months since we have done a show. We already have more lining up for the winter though so it should be a pretty exciting holiday season. As of right now I need to hop off the blog and start editing some papers for the intensive review!! See you tomorrow in class. One Love.

Back To Indy
Sooo...I wasn't fortunate enough to spend my whole weekend in Muncie for Labor Day. Sunday was my older sister's birthday so being the loving little brother I am i had to take a trip back to celebrate with the rest of the family. So i had to wake up early sunday morning (after my 2 hours of sleep) and hit the road back to Indianapolis.
Not much to complain about since it's only like a forty minute drive though...I know some people have it a lot worse haha. My buddy Kyle picked me up from Lafollette and an HOUR AND A HALF (I guess I should have driven) we were finally back at home. Who else has a mom that acted like you've already been gone for three years??? Oh well i was welcomed with a big tub of ham salad and a case of water, things I have been missing since they were demolished within the first two days of moving to Muncie.
Driving my Nitro was a miracle, I basically lived in it with my boys over this past summer. I headed over to some buddies houses that are still in high school to say what's up then hightailed it to my sisters. They both acted just like my mom did, at least my brother in laws didn't attack me like they did.
Good faces, good times, and good food. Had an overall great time with the family and used the rest of the night to record some music with KDe! Slept in my own bed and woke up in a great mood. Moms took me to Wal-Mart to stock up, then I hitched a ride back on up to Muncie. Feels great to be home!!

So... I know that one of the posts are supposed to be related to class and what we have been doing, but honestly we haven't done all that much yet. Mr. McArdle is for sure one of the better professors I have this semester, and no I'm not just saying that in hopes that he will see i said that haha. He's made it clear that even if we have had a long night we still need to do all that we can to make it to class on time. He is clear with instructions and doesn't confuse me with his teaching. Instead of just trying to teach us what we are required to learn i can tell he has a point to make with his teaching. I'm anticipating a good semester overall in English this semester! I know this post isn't that long, but i just woke up to knock it out real quick before midnight, I've been studying Philosophy for my 8 am tomorrow and can barely keep my eyes open. So until tuesday everybody. Have a good monday.
College....
So, the first week/weekend of college went by pretty painless (besides about every single morning, especially this morning) and I'm pretty happy to be here. Most of my professors seem like their going to be easy to get along with and I don't have much to complain about just yet. Skipping Philosophy 2 out of 3 times in the first week of school is something that may be looked down upon, but i promise guys it will NOT happen again (It's an 8 am class all the way at NorthQuad give me a break!!!). Thank goodness for Mr. Mcardle being just a few staircases away in the Lafollette basement! As for now I'm headed to the foodcourt, but don't worry, I'll be back in a few seeing how this is my first blog post....until then guys.
